Five Seinfeld Scenes that We Still Talk About-tvso

Whether you liked the show or not, Seinfeld was one of the most popular shows in the history of broadcast television. Even today, people talk about Seinfeld because it is in syndication and people still watch it as often as they can. Many people have favorite episodes of the show but many others have favorite scenes. Here are some of the scenes that people still talk about while laughing.

1. Jerry vs. Lieutenant Bookman

One of the funniest scenes in the entire Seinfeld series is Jerry’s confrontation with Lieutenant Bookman, played by Philip Baker Hall. Hall played the straight man but you can see Jerry trying to hold back the laughs during the scene which just made it that much funnier.

2. No Soup for You!

The phrase “No soup for you!” is probably one of the most recognizable and quoted catchphrases from all nine seasons of the show. The show has been off the air for more than a decade and people are still repeating it and laughing. I just wish I had a bowl of soup someday that would make my knees buckle!

3. Jerry and George and the Big Race

The scene in “The Race” where George “unexpectedly” runs into Jerry at Monk’s Café is one of my favorite Seinfeld scenes. I thoroughly enjoy the back-and-forth between Jerry and George when they are acting like they haven’t seen each other since high school. It’s fun to watch the dialogue as George tries to build himself up into something and Jerry just brings him right back down.

4. The Titleist

If you watch the commentary parts on the DVD boxed sets of Seinfeld, you will learn that the ending scene in “The Marine Biologist” was thought of and written pretty much at the last minute. The episode needed an ending so Larry David and Jerry got together and wrote the monologue about George pulling the golf ball out of the whale’s blowhole. The laughter from the studio audience was so long when George pulled the golf ball out of his pocket that they had to edit some of it out.

5. Kramer at the AMCA

“The Jimmy” episode was hilarious for many reasons, but the ending scene where Mel Torme is serenading a drooling Kramer at the AMCA event was priceless. Kramer looked like he was thoroughly enjoying himself as he drooled from the busted lip that Jimmy gave him just before the event. The producers said that Torme had not seen the show before so he wasn’t really in on the joke.

These are just a few of the funniest Seinfeld scenes ever. Of course, watching all of the episodes in any order will make you say “I love this scene!” many, many times over.
