How to Make a Captain America Shield

Captain America’s shield is a 2.5 ft in diameter round, nearly indestructible, stronger than steel, and a third of the weight bad news for bad guys kinda thing. Did you know the Cap uses precise throwing trajectories to return his shield to himself after striking multiple targets? With his shield, the Cap has smacked thousands of villains, deflected millions of bullets, and led the way of justice against Red Skull and his lot. So say you want to take down marauding Nazis eagerly carrying out the will of their Führer with Captain America’s shield, or just proudly display the thing on your living room wall? You’ve come to the right place, friend.
To make a replica of Captain America’s shield, all you need is some cardboard, a pair of scissors, duct tape, paintbrushes, and paint. You can find all of these materials at your local hardware store.
But that’s child’s play. You won’t last very long in a fight wielding a cardboard Captain America shield. It can catch on fire. It can get wet and flop around, or worse, the paint can run - a smeared, floppy shield is the last thing you want in combat. ANY smeared/floppy weapon or equipment is bad in combat.
What you’re looking for is the real deal. This means you need to get your hands on some vibranium, a rare metal possessing very unique molecular properties; properties that absorb all kinetic energy. In other words, almost nothing can damage it. And according to Iron Man’s dad Howard Stark, the Cap’s shield is the only object made from it; there’s no vibranium steel alloy left anywhere in the world. So you’re probably better off looking for Captain America’s shield and trying to take it from him. But we wouldn’t recommend it. Why: because he will pummel you.
