What is the exact release date for X-Men in 2014?

The exact release date for the latest X-Men installment; X-Men: Days of Future Past is May 23. In this installment, Wolverine gets sent to the past by the X-Men. The purpose for him being sent is to try and change history in order to prevent an unnamed (as of this writing) event that will have cataclysmically disastrous results for both humans and mutants.

This movie has been directed by Bryan Singer and was written by Simon Kinberg, Jane Goldman and Matthew Vaughn.

If any of you are Game of Thrones fans, you will be delighted to see Peter Dinklage in the role of Bolivar Trask. Hunger Games fans will enjoy seeing Jennifer Lawrence returning to reprise the role of Raven.

Young Magneto will be played by Michael Fassbender and young Charles Xavier will be played again by James McAvoy. Older Magneto is to be Ian McKellen again and fans will be pleased to see Patrick Stewart return as Professor Charles Xavier.

Other cast members include Evan Peters as Quicksilver/Pietro Maximoff, Hugh Jackman as Wolverine/Logan, Nicholas Holt as Hank McCoy/Beast, Ellen Page as Shadowcat/Kitty Pride, Anna Paquin as Rogue/Marie, Halle Berry as Storm and Ororo Munroe and Shawn Ashmore as Iceman and Bobby Drake.

For those who aren’t quite up on all things X-Men, these characters are a group of mutant superheroes straight from the pages of Marvel comics. Created by artist Jack Kirby and writer Stan Lee, they made their first appearance in September of 1963.

The base story of the X-Men is that there are mutants and humans sharing the earth. There is a growing hostility towards the mutants. Professor Xavier has made a sort of haven for mutants using his mansion in Westchester as their base. There, he trains the mutants how to use their powers only for good. These superpowers are to be used to benefit humanity and shed a more favorable light on mutants.

While many people are of the belief that the X in X-Men stands for Professor Xavier (Professor X), in reality it stands for the mutant gene in their makeup. It also stands for extra power which are the powers that the mutants have yet the humans lack.

There is always an arch enemy in the world of super-powered creatures and this one is no different. Magneto is the villain and he heads the Brotherhood of Mutants. That said, there have often been other villains that the X-Men battle in the comic books.

Will this movie be a hit? The die-hard X-Men fans will see it as will many children who are fans of this type of movie. The last 5 X-Men movies have grossed more than 2 billion dollars so this one is bound to fall right in line too.
